Out for a bit

Well there hasn't been much creating going on in my household for the past week. It seems that we all got the H1N1 flu. I can't believe how contagious and horrible this illness it. We were with a friends this weekend and within 5 days all 11 of us had it. CRAZY! I am pretty sure it will be a couple more days before I am fully back to myself and creating again.

Christmas Card Workshop cards

Here are the cards that I am doing November 7 for my Christmas Card Workshop. There are 4 more spots so if you are interested, please let me know. We will be making 5 cards and 3 of each for a total of 15 cards. The cost will be $20.00.

updated tri-fold card

Here is my Evensong Tri-fold card updated. I put liquid glass on the dove and on the brackets and stars around Merry and Bright. I also added a sparkle beside the Merry and by the Let there Be Peace stamp.

I'd love to know what you think of it.

a couple more cards

Here are a couple more cards that I just finished up. The first one I will be doing at my card workshop in a couple weeks. It is really simple yet very cute.

I really like the start of this card. I am not quite sure how to finish it so am looking for advice. I think I should just walk away from it and then return to it later. I am on brain drain today.

This is such a fun card which I totally scraplifted. A lot of work but FUN! The middle section (with the vellum) is a square. In the middle of the square you put a battery operated candle and it looks like a real burning candle. It is really cute. What a super fun card to give someone. Since you can get those little candles at the $$ store it can be used as an inexpensive gift too. I am not an ornament or "stuff" person but I think I would leave this on my piano for a period of time to look at. What do you think?

second post tonight - cards

These are a few cards that I created tonight. All of them were inspired by others and I apologize for not having all the names on hand. I really like them all. Again, the pictures are dark due to the bad lighting. The last card is SU. All the rest are CTMH cardstock and B&T. I also used my cuttlebug to enhance the artwork on one of the cards. Please tell me what you think.

Grace scrapbooking layouts

This is from the Grace Workshop on the Go. I must say I wasn't sure about these layouts when I first saw the kit but I LOVE them. The Grace paper is amazing. I used my Cuttlebug to do some alphabet work. Sorry my pictures are so dark tonight. Bad lighting.

The first two page layout is the one that you use Imagine for. It is my son's second birthday (yes I am a few years behind).

We had professional pictures taken of the kids last year and this layout displays a few of what my daughter's pictures turned out like. The paper goes so well with the pictures.

It's nights like tonight that I love

I think that nights like tonight are a lot of fun - it was card club night. There were 2 members who had rough days (putting it mildly) and I was really hoping that tonight would cheer them up. It is amazing when people come together, vent a little, create a card or two how it eases the mind even if only for a moment. I think I realized tonight that card club can be more than just "papercrafting". It is a place to relax, vent and just be. I really enjoyed tonight.

One of the cards that we did was the Iris fold Christmas Tree card. I know that everyone looked at it thinking - holy cow!!! However, the cards turned out GREAT and I think each member was surprised at how easy it truly is. I love giving people new techniques and tools to try out. It is even better when it is something you would never attempt on your own and you are wowed by the process. Like I said, I really enjoyed tonight.

More Christmas cards

Here are 3 more Christmas cards that I have made. They are all very pretty cards - unfortunately the pictures just do not do it justice.

This card is an Iris fold Xmas tree. I used Emporium paper using different sweet leaf papers. I used crystal blue cardstock to secure the tree on. We will be doing this at card club on Tuesday. I promise it actually looks very pretty in person.

This is another card that I did using ribbon I got at Michael's which matches CTMH's crystal blue ink.
My husband thinks this card looks like something our young son would do. I am asking your opinion on it. It is created on textured white paper and the edges are all distressed with an edge distressor. The centre piece is 2 layers. The top layer is embossed with white embossing powder, and daubed with crystal blue ink. The bottom sentiment is a bit crooked but other than that I really do like the card.

Always remember that your comments and opinions are always welcome.

Hmmm, need your opinion

I have made a couple more Christmas cards. The first one is the one that I need HONEST opinions on. What should be different on this card? Change the colour of the bottom cuttlebug part? I used Jingle paper and Juniper ink.

I think this card turned out so cute. It is simple yet warm. Give your opinions on this one too please

I made a criss cross card and am going to use it for gift cards. I will attach the gift card with repositional adhesive so it won't wreck the card when it comes off. I used Evensong paper on this one.

Christmas pictures

This is a fun little card that I just finished. I will be doing it at card club next month. It is a shaker card. As this is my first I don't think I put enough "shaker" stuff in it. Also, it seems to be needing something else. I was thinking 3 silver brads under the peace on earth. Any other ideas? I'd love to hear them.

This was a card that I was playing with a couple days ago. I think it turned out pretty cute. It is very basic but still a lot of fun. It would be great for a teacher. I have over 80 Xmas cards to make and send out so I am looking for simple and easy. Good thing I am starting now - lol.

I used Evensong on this card with Colonial white base. It is such a simple card yet so pretty. The snowflakes are from the new CTMH stamp set Snow Flurries. I just got it today and LOVE it already.

This is the card that I am going to do for a friend's woman's club at her church. It needed to be a simple card that could be finished in 20 min. I think this one is pretty and can do the trick. We will see if I end up going for sure and how it goes. I will keep you posted.
