Growing up my parents always saved money for me and my brother, but they never taught us how to do it. As a result I had to learn the hard way - My parents did what they felt was best and I certainly don't put any blame on them. What I have gone through really isn't that bad. I just wish that I would have learned to save early in life. My kids are young and I want to start drilling it into their heads that they are responsible for their future. Considering they are still so young (5, 7, 10) We feel that it is appropriate that they save 50% of their money for savings, 25% for RESP (registered education savings plan) and then the remaining 25% they can spend their way. This way they learn to save for their future while learning how to save for something they want. I hope this will teach them to save for what they want as an adult as opposed to using credit. I've told them that if they never touch their savings until retirement and continue this habit into adulthood (saving 10% of their income each pay) they will have 100's of thousands of $$$$. Also, if they ever run into problems in their adult life they will have the funds to help themselves out. This is the set up below that we came up with. Right now, they are super excited to get started......

I love Mocha Morning paper from SU - it is so elegant. I made this wedding card but it is so versatile it could be used as an anniversary card or a few changes and it could easily be a sympathy card too. Wish I had better lighting for taking pics of cards :(

Whenever I am in my craft room I always seem to have to very curious little assistants. When it isn't my kids wanting to help, it is these sweet little fellows. They lay very close to whatever I am doing and just watch - or sleep. Gotta love them!
They forget sometimes they aren't small kittens anymore but still try to fit in the same small bed.

This is a simple sympathy card that I made a couple days ago. This is the one occasion that I find hard to make a bunch of ahead of time as they are so personal. I am hoping that this is one that I would be happy to send to most anyone. The background is stamped in en francais but is very light (3rd generation). I love this stamp set.

I have been using up a lot of my time this week by cleaning out my scrapbook room and reorganizing as things haven't been working like they used to in there for me. Needless to say I haven't had a chance to do much of my own in the way of card making. It is a good thing that I belong to a card club and get to go out once in a while......By the posts you can see that it has been a lot lately. No more now until mid march..... Hopefully I will get a chance to create something of my own in that time. lol I am just waiting for some stuff to come in from Stampin Up and then I will be creating away!!!!!
Anyways, here are the 3 cards that we made at Cara's today. I think that the first one is my favourite....It is her Saleabrations card as everything used is unique only to saleabrations....
okay, I really love this card style too!!!! Cara does such a great job!!!!!!
