Thank you card

I really like this design so was playing around a little bit with it.  My personal favourite is the second card.  A little story about it....

A couple weeks ago a family who is very close to us, had their lives changed forever.  The father (who is in his 30's) was burned badly in an explosion on their farm.  He is currently recovering in hospital, but his stay will be right around the one year mark.  I am doing everything I can to try to raise money to help them out.  They have 3 children 6 and under and the distance to the hospital is 1.5 hours each way.  The mother is making these trips daily at this point as it is so important in his recovery.  Needless to say it is so expensive.  So if anyone is interested in donating to this wonderful family, I would be happy to help you do so - please send me a message if you are interested.

The mother at this point is wanting to send out thank you cards to people who have helped but doesn't' have the time to shop.  So last night I sat down and make 15 cards for her.  Along with prayers and donating blood, sending cards for her to send out would be much appreciated too.

school reunion invitations

The school in the town I grew up in was having their Centennial celebration this year and I was asked to make the invitations for the teachers.  These are 2 of the samples I came up with.  The first one is in the school colours with a picture of the school on it.  My printer was acting up so it was an awful picture.  I had 2 other samples that I sent but forgot to take pictures....

Another Cara card class

These are the cards that we made at Cara's.  It is so sad that she won't be doing this anymore on a monthly basis.  I really love her work - and she is pretty great too!

kindergarten teacher baby card

Our kindergarten teacher this year had a baby and this is the little card book that I made for her.  It was made with the top note die and there was a page for each child to write their name and a little note wishing her well.  It wasn't just a card, it was a keepsake.  I found a beautiful poem to put in there as well and decorated the back.  I have to say this is one of my favourite projects I have EVER done.  I think it turned out so well - I have to toot my own horn on this lol - Toot Toot!

Catching up

I have to say that I truly admire people who can make a commitment to their blog and stay with it faithfully.  I find that when life gets busy, the blog is the first to stop followed quickly by creating.  Although I would love to spend a lot more time in my craft room it just isn't a reality for me with a young family.  Please don't give up on me, I do try and get to it when I can.

Onward and upward......The below tags are something that I was asked to do for my daughter's kindergarten class Mother's Day event.  We had an art show so one of these tags were by each child's Picasso inspired art.  There were 3 different classes so the 3 colours.  Also I did different tags for the girls and boys.  They LOVED them - me too actually.
