House update

Wow, I can't believe that Christmas is about a month away. We got our possession for our new house - Dec 24. Merry Christmas to us. Between now and then we will have to do some serious packing. Needless to say I will be away from my scrapbooking world until after the new year. In our new house I will have my own room for scrapbooking. I can't wait!!!! Please check back in January as I am so ready to get back to creating and posting on my blog often.

Thanks for being patient with me and continuing to follow my blog. Merry Christmas to all.

Last Day - day 5 workshop cards

This is basically my own design - amazing isn't it? lol I love the background that I used the cuttlebug on (it is a sizzix folder). The white core of CTMH paper really shows through in this paper. I also love the sparkle of all the white on Santa. This is by far my favourite card.....

Day 4 workshop cards

This is another card idea that I got out of papercraft magazine. I thought it was a cute idea. I used CTMH's jingle paper pack and A Timber stamp set. I made mine a little different than what was in the magazine but found it great inspiration.

addition to last post

Awww, found it - Antoinette's blog is God Bless your Art. Check it out!

Day 2 of workshop cards

These are 2 tags that I did. My complete inspiration for these came from Antoinette. I am so sorry I can't remember her blog right now, but as soon as I get it, I will definately post it. She has incredible ideas and is a brilliant creator. I hope you enjoy these. I know one of the ladies at my workshop felt they were more decoration than tags. She was actually going to hang them in her house. These tags use the CTMH October SOTM.

Christmas workshop

Over the next 5 days I will post Xmas cards that I have made for the workshop I did a week ago. This card was based on Vicki's card at the Wizard's Hangout. She is so talented.

Since my paper crafting stuff is mostly packed up, I was limited to what I had available to play with and create. So, unfortunately I mostly scraplifted ideas and made them my own. I love this card and even decorated a fun little envelope to go with it. There are 2 cards - one uses the Mistletoe paper pack and the other uses Jingle. Both cards use the A Timber stamp set from CTMH

stampin up class I attended

A friend had is a stampin up demonstrator. She is so creative that I have to attend her workshops to see what new she comes up with.

This is the first card that we did. To make the background under the snowflakes we used a brayer wrapped in suran wrap. WHAT A GREAT IDEA. I obviously have never done this before and it gives such a cool effect. The silver paper is new from SU. It is almost like beehive paper - it is thin and crinkley. So easy to use and the rolls have so much paper on them.

This was what the demonstrator created for us as a gift for coming. A cute little paper clip purse book mark. So fun!

This was the gift idea that we created. It is a tile note board. We embossed, used staz on ink and embellished. There is the pic of the front and back.

This card is so easy, economical and fun to create. It is made with a paper bag and has lots of room to put pictures inside and write a little note in the side. So much fun!

opps - this is obviously a demo for me since I rolled the jumbo roller upside down - DUH!

It's been a long time.....

Well I know it has been a long time since I posted anything. I was going through withdrawl for crafting so I had to pull all of my accessible supplies out and see what I could do. This first card is my version of a card in the new PaperCraft Xmas magazine. It is very simple and easy. This card would be very easy to mass produce, yet it still looks really nice.

This card is my version of Lisa Stenz's Christmas Present Card. It is actually a really fun card to make. Picture 2 shows it taken apart so you could write on it.

I do have another post to add perhaps I should wait for later, but you know me, I can't resist. Hopefully I will be doing more crafting in the near future.

Another shopping site I visit

I was looking around the web one day a few years ago as I am always on the look out for a good bargin. I came across Sky Blue Pink's blog and was surprised to find lots of neat little trinkets.

As this site doesn't look like your typical site that you would purchase from I was very skeptical. There were a few items that I wanted to try and I couldn't beat the prices. Needless to say I gave it a shot and was VERY impressed. I have ordered a few times from this site and always found the quality to be good and the staff helpful.

There are a couple of things on this site that made me stop and think. One was it is a bit confusing to look around at everything - but once you visit the site a couple time you become aware of the areas which you are most interested. The other thing that kinda threw me was the language used. The lady who runs the site refers to herself as Queen Xina and always speaks in the third person. If you can get past this the site has some amazing and unique little finds.

If you visit this site - please leave me a comment and let me know what you think of it.

The time has come....

With a move on the horizon and our home being listed I had to close up my scrapbook area....sad sad day. Needless to say posts over the next few months will be few and far between with any artwork. So bear with me and I will get back on track as soon as possible.

Since I can't post artwork, I will post some of my favourite shopping sites.

One of my favourite shopping sites is Custom Crops I find this site has almost everything that you need. I get most of my Cricut Cartridges here as they are so reasonably priced. There are so many other great products on this site as well. My favourite is you can always count on them for a good sale. My advice is to check them out.

Here are a couple cards that I made tonight. The colours don't show up well in the pic - I think I need a light box - perhaps after I move I will get on that. The colours are Twilight, Grey Wool and Olive.

This card really needs something else, but I am not sure what. Perhaps a total overhaul. lol
Any suggestions would be welcomed.
This is a template that I got from Leslie at PandaScrapper last year for Xmas. I love how it turned out - minus the glitter I spritz on it. I really love how the chunky glitter looks on it - it was white until I spritzed over it - duh!

SU event I attended

A friend of mine is a Stampin Up demonstrator (Shauna Larson) and last Wed she has a workshop. These are the projects that we made.
First this little purse is so cute! You open it up and it makes the sweetest little gift album which you can put some candy or other treasures in. The next picture is what it looks like when it is open.

This is the waterfall card that we made. Super cute!

This is a fun little easle card that we made. To create the ice cream you put glue on the image and then add a mixture of glitter, and emboss powder. You heat it with the heat gun and then it bubbles and really gives the texture of ice cream. I must say, I learned a new technique today.

Okay, maybe Monday got away on me.....Better late than never I guess.

These are 2 more cards that we made at the workshop I did. They were super fun cards. I really enjoy paper piecing. It really makes such a cute card.

July's card club and scrapbook club projects

This first card is a clear card. I have to admit that I wasn't really sure if I would like these or not. I saw a picture of an upcoming class at Virtual Convention and thought this was so cute. Well, this is my version of the card. The card club will be making this one.

These are the flowers that Jeanette Lynton made and posted directions on her blog. I haven't cut it down to size at this point as this is my first attempt. They really are super cute. How do people come up with these ideas?

These are some circle flowers I did using water and one has pearl paint on it. Sorry the pic isn't very clean.

Here is the life size project that we will be making for our girls. This is a great project I found online so I can't take any credit for it. Again, this is a test - first one I have created. I think that our little girls will love them.
As for scrapbook club we will make all of the above besides the card. I haven't created the layout that we will be doing.

new favourite card

This is a card that I made using a few techniques that I love. The background is distressed with dutch blue and chocolate. I stamped En Francais (SU) in black. The stamp is from Summer By the Sea (SU) which is one of my favourite stamp sets. It is perfect for so many occassions. I used a blender pen for the colours, distressed the edges with a razor then inked them. This was the first time I have tried the cracked glass technique. It is really fun - The only thig I recommend is using the Ultra thick embossing powder. I used regular embossing powder and it worked, but would have been much easier with the thicker powder.

Let me know what you think.....

teachers year end card

This is the card that I made for my son's kindergarten teacher's. This went along with the forget me not gift in an earlier post. His teachers were really wonderful this year and I can't express how greatful I am to have had them teach my son. They were a great first impression to school that will leave a lasting imprint. The class went together and also bought each of the 3 teachers a gift certificate. Really a wonderful way to wrap up our school year.
