cards

Here is what I have been up to the last little bit. A Friend of mine just became a SU consultant so I was playing around with some paper I bought from her in the mini catalogue. I also used the flowers from the CTMH Tickled pink kit, It is really cute. This is the first flower pot card that I have made.

My Nanny (grandmother) turned 95 today. This is the card that I made for her. Very simple and to the point.

While I was using this paper pack, I thought I would do a few more really simple cards. Here are a couple.

This is a SU card that I made when we went to my friends house for her first open house. It is super cute. I really do love the big shot and what it can do.

Scrapbook room

Well, here is a look at my scrapbook room. I am in an area where we have no drywall or carpet in our basement. I out grew my other room so this wil have to do. I am fairly happy in my little space. I have ample room to do what I need and even have a TV this time. It is fairly dark in this area so I was so excited to find an Ott light at Michaels 60% off. WOW - great deal. It almost made it affordable.

April's projects

Here are 2 cards that we will be making using the Veranda paper pack. These are April's projects. The Cranberry ribbon picks up the cranberry colour in the B&T papers. I have also used clear embossing to give a bit of pizazz.

This card is simple yet elegant. The flowers use second generation stamping to give a softness.

This layout is very pretty. The dimensions for the picture borders are 3x3 and 4 1/2 x 6 1/2.

The dimensions of the picture borders in this layout are 3x5.

March's projects

Here are the card club and scrapbook club projects we will be making for March.

Here is the layout that we will be completing. The dimensions where each of the picture goes is 6 1/4 x 4 1/4 (x2), 5 1/2 x 4 1/2 (x1), 3 1/2 x 3 1/2 (x2), 3 1/2 x 5 1/2 (x 2). Remember that each of your pictures will be about 1/4 inch smaller that the border.

I have several days coming up to scrapbook in the next few weeks so I hope I will get somewhere near caught up! I would love your comments on these layouts.

scrapbook layouts

Wow, I have been totally neglecting my blog - I am sorry! It seems that the past few weeks have been nothing but crazy - life happens. I have been trying to turn my focus to scrapbooking these days because I am so far behind I think I am ahead. You can see that I have finished my daughters 2 months pictures.....well, she is 3 - not months - Years. I am not doing much better with my sons albums. So needless to say that is my focus. I also have a wedding album that I haven't even started yet. We have only been married 9 years......Sad..... So I have dedicated 1 Friday a month to scrapbooking. A friend of mine and I are going to a local scrapbook store for crop night. It generally starts at 7 pm but we will be going at noon. That way we will have a good 12 hours of cropping. Lastnight I got 24 pages done. I have brought them home to embellish them. Makes life so much easier. I don't have the confidence in my finished layouts that I do in my cards - so please be kind to me.....Here are 3 that I have completed.

You can't really see it in the picture but each picture has either a button or a little tied sassy strand. There is also sassy strand at the top. It really looks pretty.

This layout is in honour of my grandmother. She was an amazing quilter so this is a layout for her! I think she would love it. She can look down from Heaven above and smile.

Pictures don't do my layouts any justice. They really do look better in person. All the designs are taken from the Reflections book. Thanks so much for looking!

New cricut cartridges

Today in the mail was a very exciting day. I got two new cricut cartridges - one being Paperdoll dressup. I didn't get a chance to play with it tonight, but I am going to try to get a moment tomorrow between running kids here and there and attending a bridal shower. I plan to make my daughter a travel kit using the cartridge and make paper dolls with magnets. That way she can put the items on, play with them and put them back in the case which will also be metal. Perhaps different background borders could be a possibility too. We will see. I LOVE my cricut!

This is based on a card by Lisa Stenz. I think that these cards are really fun. I used the Sweet Home paper pack from CTMH. So cute!
