Gift card holder and scrapbook journaling idea

I was asked to do a demonstration for an upcoming crop. I was originally going to do the gift card holder but it is National Scrapbook month so this was more appropriate. This little item can be a card, hold treats or be a journal spot for scrapbooking. It is so cute and easy to do. If you are interested in creating one of these, perhaps you should join the 24 hour crop. For details, just ask me.

This is a gift card holder that we are going to make for card club. These are super simple and fun.

Studio J digital scrapbooking

I have been thinking about how best to present Studio J. I know it is an amazing program and for those of you who aren't sure about whether to scrapbook or not, this will convince you why you need to do it. As I was looking through my blog list (blogs that I follow) I ran across this blog: The Craft Closet by Angela www.angelascraftcloset.blogspot.com who is a fellow CTMH consultant. I think she sums it up and presents it in a humourous way while getting the point across. I love it. PLEASE take a minute to view her blog and check out the details.

wallet gift card holders - give away

Here are a couple of wallet gift card holders that I made. I was asked to do a demo for an upcoming crop and this is what I came up with. Please leave comments and tell me:

1. Do you like this project
2. What would you do to improve it?
3. Would you want to make one?
4. Which one do you like better?

I will randomly select a winner to receive one of these cute projects with the instructions on how to make them. Just leave a comment and ensure I can send the winner an email. Contest will close on April 30th.

old idea made new

Here are a couple of cards that I made today using Connections, Enjoy the Journey and State of Mind stamp sets. I used cocoa, dessert sand and crystal blue ink. I LOVE the colour combination. I am a horrible photographer (maybe I should take lessons) so the pictures really don't do the cards justice. I had made similar cards a couple years ago and can't find them. I thought I would try to recreate this simple design.

A couple cards

Here are a couple of cards I made tonight. The blue Mother's Day card was just a very simple card. I used a circle card 4" and put a scallop circle behind it to add some character. I used the Because I love you and Authentic stamp sets. I used Lilac Mist and Outdoor Denim cardstock and Outdoor Denim ink.

Inside of card. I used a SU stamp for the sentiment.

Here is a card that I made for my dad's birthday. I come from a farming background and my parents are still there today. Although it is time for retirement for him, he just can't let go. Here is a card that I made him for his birthday. It just really suits him - it is a barn theme.

The barn doors open to show farm items.

This is what the inside looks like

Moving

Well, the next few months should be rather interesting. We are moving to another town about 10 miles north of where we are now. I am not sure at what point I will have to pack up my papercrafting supplies but it should be a few months yet. We are building so won't be actually moving until Octoberish but we are going to put our house up for sale 3 or 4 months prior. UGH! What a lot of work. It will be so worth it in the end though.

Best part of this move is it is a Bungalow and..... I will have my own scrapbook room at the front of the house in our flexroom. I am super excited about this as I sometimes have a hard time going to the basement to work when the kids are upstairs. This is a perfect senerio for me. I will post pictures as they are available - we haven't even broke ground yet....

Here are a couple of cards that I made this weekend. The first was a sympathy card using the Aug SOTM. I chalked it and think it turned out beautiful. I wanted it to be simple yet pretty and I think I accomplished that. What do you think? This card is going to my husband's boss as his mother died.

This is a card I made for my brother's birthday next week. I used Warm Memories, fun flock and then a SU stamp. It was so easy and I really love the result.

Here is a card that I made for a baby boy. I think it may be lacking something???? It is my version of a card from the Wishes book.

teacher gift

I wish I was a photographer. These little seed package holders are so cute in peson but they photo just does not do it justice. I LOVE this idea for a teachers gift. This is my version of one that I printed off many years ago and have finally gotten around to making them. The flower seeds are "forget me not" which sends such a great message I think. These will be the gifts that the teachers will get at the end of the year - small and simple. We will also be making them for card club next month. Let me know what you think.

more cards.....

Here are a couple cards I whipped up today. I really love this little frog card. You could use it for so many occassions - birthdays, anniversary etc. It was a lot of fun to create.
This card was a lot of fun. I used watercolour pencils to do it. Then of course, you use the blender pen to blend it all. I have found a new fun technique that I really enjoy. This card does not have a greeting on it yet as I wasn't sure what I was going to use it for. The greeting will go up in the left hand corner area. It is a VERY simple card. As much as I hate to say it, this is the kind of card that I give to someone who I know won't keep them. It has little embellishments but still looks really cute and has just as much heart go into it.
I really enjoy doing these paper bag cards. They are so simple and really give a different feel to a card. This one we will be doing for card club on Tuesday.

Here is the insert.

I thought I would try these cards for card club. I have to say - I am not a big fan of these cards. However, I put this card ontop of another card and LOVED the look of it. If it is used as a card front, I really like it. Perhaps I will make some more changes to it yet.
